Limited to 10 people
Includes all materials, equipment, glazing of your finished pieces, 2 kiln firings.
In this workshop, Richard will help you form your own special handmade teacups using 2 different techniques.
2 kurinuki teacups - the Japanese art of kurinuki - starting with a solid piece of clay and hollowing the inside to create your cup shape - this style of pottery is often thought of as a sculptural, slow and intentional way of creating - allowing the cup to reveal itself within the block of clay.
2 hand-pinched teacups - a very simple form of pottery making, but one that can result in a beautiful organic shape that is individual to the maker.
Both sets of cups will be decorated with pattern and texture and a variety of slips.
Your completed pieces will be bisque fired, glazed and fired again by your tutor, and ready for you to collect approximately 3-4 weeks after your workshop.
