My name is Lily Weeds. I am an artist/mother/wife/coffee addict living and working at my studios in Grey Lynn and Muriwai Beach on Auckland's wild west coast, working under the name Lil Ceramics.
I studied visual arts at MIT and more recently I discovered a passion for getting my hands dirty and working with clay.
I like to surround myself with beautiful and inspiring objects, I am inspired by curves, lines, symmetry, hot kilns, smooth clay, messy studios, rolling hills, damp forests, westcoast sunsets, hot coffee and wind-swept beaches.
I love the process of working with the raw materials and the connection from creating something functional to be enjoyed and used everyday.
My vision for Further Doings Studio is to provide a place to present and sell my works and the works of fellow creative comrades from around New Zealand.
The studio has two street-front retail spaces; one dedicated to the above mentioned creators and the other available for pop-up shops and public workshops. If you are interested in booking the space, let me know!
My workshop and kilnroom are covered in clay and related materials and allow me to get really dirty and creative. If you pop into the shop you'll likely find me with messy hands but I'll be eager to greet you.
Somedays the shop will be manned by fellow creators, with their own stories to tell.
